Video Three - New ModelThe third video in the Recovery Series is called New Model. This final video is devoted to helping you find skills that may reduce the risk of you repeating the experience of a relationship breakdown. These skills include communication, assertiveness, and awareness of your family of origin influences. Relaxation is a very important part of this video, and Gillian provides tips and useful suggestions to help even the most stressed-out person to relax. She also looks at the various levels of communication, and ways of listening that can help you form better relationships in the future. This includes relationships with your children, and relationships with your ex-partner and those at work. Finally, New Model looks at the time when your emotional roller-coaster slows down and you can start making new friends and enjoying your single life. Gillian leads you gradually through this sensitive time, and in a straight-forward way explains sexual matters that you may not have experienced before, such as HIV/AIDS. She also explains how to be aware of repeating your relationship patterns, and understanding the influences of your family of origin. New Model also discusses forgiveness and the possibilities of friendship with your ex-partner when you have accepted that the relationship is completely over.
